The construction of Technology Institute of Sumatera will soon be underway, starting on August 2012. The construction will be funded by the state budget of Rp. 65 billions said Provincial Secretary Barlian Tihang. The physical location of 200 hectare is determined to be near the golf course, which used to be a location of State Rubber Plantation (PTPN VII) property, while the other location of 500 hectare will be in Jati Agung Village.
Students’ admission will soon be opened this year (2012) with the targeted number of 60 new students. As the physical building is not yet ready, for the time being, accepted students will be placed in Technology Institute of Bandung (ITB) in Bandung. As soon as the building and other learning facilities are available, the students of Technology Institute of Sumatera (ITS) temporarily studying at ITB in Bandung will be transferred to Lampung Province.
