Sukhoi Superjet victims’ bodies to be handed over to familiesThe bodies of 45 identified victims of Sukhoi Superjet 100 tragedy were returned to the victims’ families at around 10 o’clock this morning on Wednesday at Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport in East Jakarta. The bodies were first delivered by DVI (Disaster Victims Identification) to National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) and Transportation Minister just before being handed over to the families. The foreign victims were returned to the representatives of respective country or embassies of each country.
Soenaryo said, as quoted by Kompas.com, that coordination with all related parties had been done in order that the handover of the remains could be done quickly and without hindrance.
The delivery of the bodies was done with motorcade. All expenses incurred during the delivery of the remains will be borne by PT Trimarga Rekatama.
Meanwhile, two of the victims of Sukhoi Superjet 100, Adit and Ismi are now being taken to the office of Trans TV so that all trans TV colleagues will pay tribute to the remains. The religious remains prayer is also performed at Trans TV office. The atmosphere of emotion and sadness fills Trans TV office. Those present at Trans TV office are not only employees of Trans TV and two family members of the victims but also colleagues and friends from the other mass media.
After the tribute and prayer of the remains, the bodies will be buried in the home town of the victims’ parents. Adit’s body will be flown to Central Java, Malang to be buried in his parents’ home town, where Adi was born, while Ismi’s on her parents’ request will be buried in Ciligon, Banten not far from Jakarta.
