Feeling Happier After A Physical Exercise

If you never perform a physical exercise and are always in a bad mood, I suggest starting a physical exercise routine to get rid of you being in a bad mood. Read on and find out why after regular workout people feel happier and energetic.

Exercise can not only make a person have a healthy body and strong, but also can make people look happier or not easily stressed. What causes him to be happier and not easily stressed?

National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence in England has said that exercise can enhance brain serotonin function in humans, and it is the chemical serotonin in the brain that helps move the messages along the nervous system.

This neurotransmitter perform many functions including regulating mood, appetite and sleep or wake cycles. About 75 percent of the chemical compound is located in the intestinal cells and the remaining neurons in the brain.

If serotonin levels are increased, then the mood will be better and the risk of depression and stress is smaller, as quoted from Livestrong.

The study, published in Neuropsychopharmacology reveals that regular exercise can increase levels of tryptophan in the brain, which is an amino acid that is used to produce serotonin.

Even so, researchers have not clearly understood what kind of mechanism happened. But it is clearly found that aerobic exercise can improve mood by increasing the number of serotonin.
Some exercises such as aerobics, walking, running, biking and swimming or sports are most effective in increasing the synthesis of serotonin in the brain. Other exercises like yoga, Pilates, exercise and stress management flexibility can also help the same.

To increase the synthesis of serotonin in the brain requires an optimal amount of exercise about 3 hours per week or 30 minutes of exercise per day. The 30 minute workout can be divided into three stages throughout the day, for example, each requires 10 minute exercise.
